The recent Fraser Valley Festival of Praise raised $250,000 for Ukrainian relief efforts.

The festival featured a concert April 27 at Chilliwack Alliance Church and two concerts April 28 at Central Heights Church in Abbotsford.

The event was organized by a group of retired Mennonite church leaders.

The performances included a mass choir directed by Fred Ekkert, pastor of music ministries at Clearbrook MB Church; a male chorus directed by Professor Ben Ewert from Trinity Western University; and a Ukrainian ensemble directed by Andriy Zolotaryov, who left his home in Zaporizhzhia after the war began.

Also featured was internationally acclaimed Abbotsford songwriter, composer, recording artist and songwriting instructor Brian Doerksen, along with his father, Harry Doerksen.

Half of the money raised will be assigned to the Mennonite Central Committee for relief in Ukraine, and half will be used for the relief and support of Ukrainians living in the Fraser Valley.
