The Abbotsford Quilters Guild says support from the community has enabled the group to continue to donate quilts to local organizations.

The guild recently held its Quilts in the Valley show at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly, where more than 225 quilts were featured in a myriad of patterns, styles and colours.

“Even our kids and grandkids had quilts to show,” the guild said in a press release.

The event also showcased a memorial display in honor of 10 members who have passed away.

The Abbotsford Quilters Guild continues to run its We Care program, donating quilts made by members to the neonatal intensive care unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

The group also donates quilts to the New Beginnings program for young parents, Archway Community Services for seniors and new immigrants, and women’s shelters and transition houses.

To date, they have donated more than 9,000 quilts.
