Abbotsford author and holistic nutritionist Shawn Elliot has won an award for her latest book.

An Abbotsford author and holistic nutritionist has won a writing award for a book titled A Busy Parent's Guide to Childhood Obesity.

Shawn Elliot recently received the IndieReader Discovery Award in the "parenting (child/health)" category.

The awards were launched in 2011 to help indie authors receive the attention of top publishing professionals, with the goal of reaching more readers.
