The Abbotsford school district has announced the appointment of a new communications manager.
Kristi Ferguson has been named the senior manager of communications and community relations, effective July 8.
Ferguson comes from the Pacific Public Health Foundation, where she worked in health-care philanthropy, overseeing branding, media relations and crisis communication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
School board chairperson Shirley Wilson said Ferguson is an experienced communications leader "with a passion for engaging diverse audiences."
Ferguson holds a degree from BCIT in marketing management and fundraising management and a public relations diploma from the University of Victoria.
Her skills include strategic planning, donor stewardship, social media strategy, and "impactful storytelling."
Ferguson replaces former communications manager Kayla Stuckart, who started a new position in April with Emily Carr University of Art and Design as interim executive director of communications, marketing and public affairs.
