Abbotsford's Julia Le earns significant scholarship from The Cmolik Foundation

Abbotsford's Julia Le has earned a $45,000 post-secondary scholarship with The Cmolik Foundation.

Rick Hansen Secondary School grad Julia Le has earned a $45,000 post-secondary scholarship with The Cmolik Foundation.

The scholarship was awarded to her in recognition of her achievements in overcoming adversity and excelling in her studies.

The Cmolik Foundation selection committee stated that they were impressed with Le's application, her academic goals and her future career aspirations. The award recognizes and honours Le’s hard work and commitment and the funds will go to support Le's pursuit of a degree in a Bachelor of Science with a major in biochemistry to advance to dental school.

She will be attending the UBC in the fall.

“In 10 years I envision myself as an ambitious dentist, still early in my career, but consistently dedicated to the pursuit of owning my own practice," she stated her in application.

“What sets Julia apart is her tenacity and unwavering determination to succeed," said RHSS vice-principal Brent Schroeder. "Julia consistently displayed an outstanding work ethic and an unyielding commitment to achieving her goals.”

The Cmolik Foundation was founded in 2008 to provide opportunities for youth who have experienced adversity in their lives. They provide $45,000 scholarships to deserving students from across British Columbia.

There are currently 100 students enrolled in through the foundation's scholarship program. They also offer several $30,000 scholarships to deserving alumni to pursue graduate studies. They are also known for the SFU Cmolik $100,000 Prize for the Best Enhancement in Public Education.
