Grammy-winning country music star Clint Black kicks off his Canadian tour inside the Abbotsford Centre on Thursday, June 13.
Black will be revisiting his Killin’ Time album, which was released 35 years ago. He will perform the entire album for the first-time ever in concert and also play some of his other hits.
Killin’ Time, released in 1989, produced four straight number one singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks charts. The album was certified platinum in 1990 and he was nominated for two Grammy’s that year.
He went on to win Favourite Country New Artist from the American Music Awards in 1990 and collected several other accolades that year.
The 62-year-old has gone on to release 14 studio albums and has had 13 songs achieve number one status on Billboard.
In tandem with the tour, a special vinyl reissue of Killin’ Time will be issued in partnership with Sony Music and Vinyl Me Please.
“Time flies when you’re…Killin’ Time,” he stated in a press release. “My band and I are very excited to play the album top to bottom. Revisiting these songs has been inspiring and we can’t wait to hit the road and play it for the fans.”
Other B.C. stops on the tour include: Penticton (June 14), Prince George (June 15) and Dawson Creek (June 16). The tour concludes on Nov. 9 in Lake Charles, La.
